Oman's aviation sector is witnessing a robust surge as the number of passengers passing through its airports soared by 16.8% by the end of March 2024.

Muscat International Airport, a key gateway to Oman, witnessed a remarkable 17.7% increase in passenger traffic, with 3,482,325 passengers traversing its terminals. This surge was supported by 25,204 flights, marking a 13.8% rise in the number of flights operated.

The airport saw a substantial number of international and domestic flights, with 23,237 international flights catering to 3,232,76 passengers and 1,967 domestic flights serving 250,249 passengers. Among the nationalities, Indian passengers topped the charts with 79,810 arrivals and 77,646 departures, closely followed by Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals.

Salalah Airport also experienced a notable uptick in passenger numbers, reaching 325,035 passengers with 2,288 flights, a 6.7% increase. International flights accounted for 1,218, carrying 162,651 passengers, while domestic flights handled 1,070, accommodating 162,384 passengers.
